About Me

Xiangjun Tan is a PhD student in Physics at University College London, supervised by Prof. Sougato Bose. His research focuses on quantum information and quantum computing (QIQC), with applications in high-energy physics (HEP) and condensed matter physics (CMP).

Before joining UCL, he completed a Physics Honours degree at the University of New South Wales under the supervision of Prof. Susan Coppersmith. His honours project, Physics Beyond the Standard Model Enhanced through Quantum Information, received $105,000 in IBM Quantum credits in 2024. He was also a research assistant in the condensed matter theory group of Prof. Tiantian Zhang at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2023–2024).

Beyond research, he founded and served as president of the Research Seminar Association at the University of New South Wales (2023–2024), a student-led academic community with thousands of members.
